2009 – England

The first ever Women’s T20 World Cup was organized in England. The hosts managed to beat New Zealand by six wickets in the final and became the inaugural champions. Claire Taylor contributed greatly during the whole competition.

2010 – Australia

Australia claimed their first ever T20 World Cup title after beating New Zealand by a mere margin of three runs in the exciting final that was played in Barbados. It was the start of their reign.

2012 – Australia

Australia successfully defended their title against England in Colombo. An excellent inning from Jess Cameron assisted Australia in scoring a respectable score before the bowlers delivered a win.

2014 – Australia

Australia won their hat-trick title after beating England in the final. Australia under Meg Lanning continued their reign in world cricket.

2016 – West Indies

2016 saw the most dramatic final in the history of Women’s T20 World Cup. Chasing 149, West Indies won the game against Australia in an outstanding 66 from Hayley Matthews.

2018 – Australia

Australia recovered quickly from their defeat in the 2016 final, winning convincingly against England in Antigua and reclaiming their championship.

2020 – Australia

The 2020 final took place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and became a historical one, gathering more than 86,000 people. Australia won the match by 85 runs owing to the brilliant batting performance of Beth Mooney and Alyssa Healy.

2023 – Australia

Australia continued to dominate, beating South Africa in Cape Town. The match-winning knock of Beth Mooney helped the Australian team win their sixth title.

2024 – New Zealand

New Zealand won their first ever Women’s T20 World Cup, beating South Africa in the final. Amelia Kerr and the White Ferns put on a brilliant show to become first-time champions.

2026 – Australia

Australia claimed the trophy by defeating the hosts England by seven wickets in the final at Lord’s. Beth Mooney earned Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament accolades for her outstanding performance; Australia won their record-breaking seventh Women’s T20 World Cup title.
